Frat Hijinks

MSNBC - Rumsfeld apologizes to abused Iraqis
But Rumsfeld warned the committee that the worst was yet to come. He said he had looked at the full array of unedited photographs of the situation at Abu Ghraib for the first time Thursday night and found them “hard to believe.”

“There are other photos that depict incidents of physical violence towards prisoners, acts that can only be described as blatantly sadistic, cruel and inhumane," he said. “... It’s going to get a good deal more terrible, I’m afraid.”

Rumsfeld did not describe the photos, but U.S. military officials told NBC News that the unreleased images showed U.S. soldiers severely beating an Iraqi prisoner nearly to death, having sex with a female Iraqi female prisoner and “acting inappropriately with a dead body.” The officials said there was also a videotape, apparently shot by U.S. personnel, showing Iraqi guards raping young boys.
Rush Limbaugh says that the incidents were no worse than common fraternity hazing. What kind of fucked up frat was Rush in?

Slow...

I haven't posted much lately. I've been deep into my search for a job. I have a few strong possibilities. Hopefully I will hear something in the next couple of days.

Abu Ghraib might sink BushCo. The American public will tolerate naked men being stacked in human pyramids. They won't tolerate pictures of women and children being tortured. Those pictures are out there and it's only a matter of time until they see the light of day. You cannot boast that the rape rooms and torture rooms have been shut down when it's obvious that they are only under new management.

Ms. Chanandler Bong

My hopes for the Friends finale:

1. Ross decides to go to France with Rachel. They die in a plane crash over the Atlantic.
2. Chandler and Monica die in a horrible moving accident.
3. Joey moves to LA. He can die later.
4. Phoebe adopts Emma and lives happily ever after.

Gunther was the real star of the show.

Abu Ghraib

The Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal has been covered by others better than I ever could. I have only one comment: What does it take to get fired from this administration? Someone has got to pay for this war crime.

White America

Bush Cites Racism in Remarks On Iraq
"There's a lot of people in the world who don't believe that people whose skin color may not be the same as ours can be free and self-govern," Bush said.

"I reject that. I reject that strongly. I believe that people who practice the Muslim faith can self-govern. I believe that people whose skins aren't necessarily -- are a different color than white can self-govern."

emphasis mine
According to The Idiot Son of an Asshole, all Americans are white. Sorry to all those not of European decent.

This is what happens when Hughes and Rove let the moron off the leash.

Delisted...

I've decided to delist Ted Rall. His cartoon about Pat Tillman was offensive and insulting. You cannot blame the soldiers for the poorly planned and misguided wars of the Commander in Chief.

Shit...

Selective Service eyes women's draft
The chief of the Selective Service System has proposed registering women for the military draft and requiring that young Americans regularly inform the government about whether they have training in niche specialties needed in the armed services.

The proposal, which the agency's acting Director Lewis Brodsky presented to senior Pentagon officials just before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, also seeks to extend the age of draft registration to 34 years old, up from 25.
Women should have to register with Selective Service. If this plan goes through I am once again in the draft eligible age group. A draft wouldn't be necessary if all the chickenhawks would put their enlistment where their mouths are. It's easy to support a war when it's fought by proxy.
